A Liquid-Metal-Based Crossed-Slot Antenna With Polarization and Continuous-Frequency Reconfiguration

Aiming to the limitations of traditional reconfigurable antennas, this paper proposes a novel antenna that can achieve four polarizations and continuously-tunable frequency. The proposed is based on liquid metal, i.e. eutectic gallium indium (EGaIn). pattern slots be controlled by changing amount metal inserted in 3-D printed channels. work under polarization modes: left-hand circular (LHCP), right-hand (RHCP), two orthogonal linear (LP) modes. Under LP modes, working frequency tuned continuously from 1.82 GHz 2.0 GHz. measured results agree with simulated ones, which validate performance antenna.
